1. The service and these terms
These Terms govern your use of Occlusal Harmony, operated by Dr. Mark Bishara in Whitby, Ontario, Canada, including its website and installable web app. They apply on the current hosted website and when the service becomes available at occlusalharmony.com. By creating an account or using community features, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use those features. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into these Terms. Use accurate account information and describe your role, experience, qualifications and affiliations honestly. Keep your login secure and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Do not impersonate another person, share access to another person’s account or evade a suspension.
3. Professional networking, not clinical care
Occlusal Harmony helps dental professionals, students, team members, technicians and industry colleagues connect and exchange ideas. Roles and credentials are self-reported and are not independently verified. A profile, connection, mentor label or group post is not an endorsement or credential.
Content is for general professional discussion and is not individualized dental, medical, legal or financial advice. The service does not establish a clinician–patient relationship or replace clinical judgment, training, supervision or professional obligations. Independently verify qualifications and advice before relying on them. Do not use this service for emergencies or patient records.
4. Community conduct
You must not post patient-identifying information or confidential clinical records; harass, threaten, discriminate against or deceive others; upload unlawful or infringing content; spam members or send unsolicited bulk promotions; distribute malware; scrape personal information; bypass access controls; or interfere with the service. Obtain permission before sharing another person’s image or information. Disclose relevant commercial interests when recommending products or services. Comply with the professional and legal obligations that apply to you.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Occlusal Harmony a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce and display that content as needed to operate the features you use, including sharing it with the members you choose to reach, and to investigate reports or comply with law. We do not acquire ownership of your professional work. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit it.
You can edit your profile and delete your own group messages. Deletion may not remove copies other members made, material retained for lawful safety or legal reasons, or copies awaiting expiry in provider backups. Initiate account-level deletion under My profile → Delete my account.
6. Connections, groups and gatherings
Direct messaging requires an accepted connection. Group conversations are shared with members who join; posting identifies you by your displayed name even if your directory profile is hidden. Joining a group does not make its content confidential. Online indicators reflect recent activity rather than a promise that someone is available.
You are responsible for arrangements you make with other members, including mentorship, referrals, purchases and meetings. We do not guarantee outcomes or another member’s conduct. Event concepts marked as illustrative or “dates to be announced” are not scheduled events or confirmed registrations.
7. Reporting and moderation
You can report or block members. Reports are reviewed by the site owner and are not an emergency response service. We may investigate, remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts for violations, safety concerns or legal requirements. We may act promptly where needed to protect others. To ask us to reconsider a moderation decision, contact us with your account email and relevant details. Do not include patient information.
8. Third-party services and availability
Social sign-in, authentication and hosting depend on third-party services with their own terms. Features may change or be interrupted by maintenance, faults or provider restrictions. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage or that all content will be accurate. Keep independent copies of information you need to retain, without copying another member’s private information without permission.
9. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee that it will meet every purpose or be error-free. We are not responsible for professional decisions or arrangements made between members. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, limits mandatory consumer or privacy rights, or excuses fraud or wilful misconduct.
10. Closing an account and changes
You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion under My profile → Delete my account. The owner processes requests within 30 days and sends confirmation to your account email. Leaving a group, signing out or revoking a social login does not automatically close your account. Retention and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Updated Terms will show a revised date. We will give additional notice of material changes where required and ask for agreement where applicable before those changes govern your use.
11. Applicable law and questions
Subject to any mandatory rights and laws that apply where you live, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Please contact us first about a dispute so we can try to resolve it. Nothing here prevents you from approaching a regulator or a court with jurisdiction.
